As the Legal and Compliance Counsel specialising in Telecoms and IT, you will be responsible for ensuring that our company operates within the bounds of the law and maintains the standards in all aspects of our business activities.
Your primary focus will be on providing legal counsel and guidance on compliance matters related to our operations, as well as managing regulatory risks associated with our products and services. You will also be the company representative in communications with regulatory authorities, technology providers, and external legal counsel as needed.

You will be responsible for:
Advising the board of: (i) any risks and mitigations relating to commercial/legal matters; and (ii) regulatory issues and regulatory legislation and/or the introduction of new general legislation
Ensuring standardised terms across all different services for easy client review
Working with the compliance team to develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies tailored to our industry, ensuring adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
Conducting internal audits and investigations to assess compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, identify potential risks or issues, and recommend corrective actions or process improvements
Conducting thorough assessments of legal and regulatory risks associated with our reselling activities and develop strategies to mitigate and manage these risks effectively
Dealing with enquiries regarding drafting, review, and negotiate of contracts and agreements with suppliers, partners, subcontractors and customers to ensure compliance with legal requirements and protect the company's interests
Staying up to date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry guidelines governing the reselling of telecoms and IT products and advise stakeholders on compliance requirements and best practices
Developing and delivering training programs and educational materials to increase awareness of legal and compliance obligations among employees
Supporting the Compliance team to conduct internal investigations into allegations of non-compliance and recommend appropriate disciplinary, preventive or corrective actions as necessary
Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement internal policies and procedures that promote a culture of compliance. Contribute to the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures to ensure best practices in technology transactions
Providing support to the business in other areas of law that may not be key specialism i.e. employment, TUPE and acquisitions

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a Legal Counsel who has/is:
A Qualified solicitor in the UK with a current practicing certificate, preferable
At least 3 years of (PQE), with a focus on legal and compliance issues in the telecoms and IT industry, preferably in a reselling context
A strong understanding of laws, regulations, and industry standards relevant to reselling telecoms and IT products, including contract law and data protection regulations
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial agreements, including reseller agreements, distribution agreements, and service contracts
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex legal and compliance issues and provide practical solutions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
Sound judgment and integrity, with a commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of compliance and accountability
A clear commercial awareness and pragmatism
The ability to find innovative solutions within acceptable levels of risk
Proactive and detail-oriented with excellent time management skills to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with the ability to work autonomously to take initiative
A high level of discretion with confidential matters
