Job Description

To provide pragmatic, timely and sound commercial legal advice for all areas of the business.


Location: Ideally North West area, however this is flexible.

Salary: Dependent on Experience.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours).


Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide pragmatic and commercial legal and regulatory advice to the business.
  • To support the business in ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • To draft and negotiate customer and supplier contracts.
  • Assisting with HR and property related matters.
  • To manage instructed solicitors and counsel where required including in respect of business sale and purchase agreement.
  • Ultimate responsibility for the development, management, and implementation of the overall legal and compliance strategy for the business.
  • Provision of support and guidance to the Compliance Manager and Compliance Officer regarding the company’s internal audit strategy, identification of key compliance risks, compliance reviews and the company’s day to day compliance with applicable regulation (Ofcom, FCA (consumer credit and insurance) and Privacy regulations).


Qualifications

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 7 years’ PQE – desirable.
  • Ideally with telecommunications and technology sector experience and knowledge of Ofcom general conditions.
  • Familiarity with GDPR and wider UK statutory risk principles (e.g., Health and Safety, Anti-Bribery etc).
  • Driving licence.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft Windows, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work autonomously and to handle numerous competing matters at the same time, effectively prioritising those matters and keeping the business updated in the process.
  • Highly organised.
  • Must be able to problem solve, identifying pragmatic commercial solutions to meet the requirements of the business.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, being able to communicate at all levels of the business.
